most people find Planetary Industry “too clicky” and get lost in the mechanics.
but at the bottom-line, PI is actually pretty easy.

here is what you need to do to pay for your Omega using only PI, with as little effort as possible.

  • a EVE Account with Omega already active (PI and Cloaking requires it)
    all 3 Characters need to participate to make it work!
  • about 25million ISK (2CSS can provide this)
  • a Epithal (2CSS can provide this)
  • about 20 Hours skill training to start (4 days total)
  • basic math skills

Effort vs. Returns

in order to NOT make this a job, its better to just stick with a high demand “P2 Item” such as Superconductors or Viral Agent (this varays based on supply & demand of course)
you can use evehelper.tk to check whats hot at the moment, keep in mind the higher the grade, the more effort it takes, so we recomend to stick with P2/Refined Commodities.

Skills

to get things started, you will first need the basic skills, we have a Corp skill plan you can use and start training it.

  • Remote Sensing III
  • Command Center Upgrades IV
  • Interplanetary Consolidation IV
  • Cloaking III

after about 20 hours you should be at level 3 on Planetary Consolidation and Command Center Upgrades.
with that level you can already start setting things up.

Setting things up

once you pick you poision, just go to Hanns.IO Pi site (it’s less bloated), click to the item you have selected and note the planet types you will need to check.
we will use Microfiber Shielding for the rest o this page to make things more easy.

  • hanns.io shows we need to find Lava and Temperate planets for extraction.
  • open the Agency->Resource Harvesting->Planetary Industry
  • Select “Any Distance” (so you can browse better)
    Security: Lowsec
  • make sure only Lava and Temperate planets are selected

Browse planets and check if your required materials have more than 45% avaiable (in our example that would be Autotrophs & Felsic Magma)

however the amount of the material is not everything, its also important to compare how concentrated they are on the planet.
check this two examples, both planets have 61% reccources, while the one on the left will be far better to use as the material is located on just a few sports.

  • Load the Command Centers for the planets you selected in the Ship (if you just supply one or two plaents, any hauler will do).
  • Travel to the system, warp to the cloak spot, cloak your ship (you have to be in space to deploy!)
  • then right click on your overview, find the planet you chose in the agency, right click -> “View Planetary industry”
  • place the Command Center anywhere on the planet, click Submit, and close the window. Thats it, anything else can be done in the safety of the station!
