we do operate multiple Moon-mining structures in the region, the math is not as straight forward as you may think it is. No doubt, there can be money made, but you need to be smart about it.
a monthly “pull” of Moon+ ore in highsec will result in about 15-20Million ㎥ of raw materials. this roughly translates to around 479–830 Million ISK in returns.
If you are lucky this can go
up to 1.93 Billion ISK with a ” Glistening ” pull.
However, this is not everything that’s to it.
- there is the Initial investment for the Structure, the drill, survey probes and other things you may need.
- you need to have existing Mining equipment
such as serval ships that can bee online at the same time (no Alphas)
a support ship (usually an Orca) - the Moondrill requires Fuel to run, which costs you at least 120Block/day.
(or 70.42 Million ISK per Month)
you can’t disable it to safe fuel as this also put’s the structure in “Full Power” - plus there is the risk of Wars, which you can avoid by partnering with a Mercinary group like S.R.S but this will also cost you about 200 Million ISK/Month
a monthly pull must AT LEAST get you 75 Million isk in ore,
just to break even on running cost,
plus another 200 Million if you not want to be in a war every other month,
which will resul’t in the loss of the structure, unless you have an army at your disposal to defend it.
NOT including the initial cost of about 1.7 – 2.2 Billion for structure itself!
here is a quick example how fast your Structure-operation can take an aprupt end when attacked by a sophisticated Mercenary Corp like S.R.S
